Marketing writing! My thoughts

In the guise of sounding professional or corporatese or formal or businessy, we sometimes write forced content that is so hard for the reader to understand.

I have seen so many websites carrying content that has long and complicated sentences. Some writers show their writing prowess by writing long sentences that run an entire paragraph. By the time I am done reading the paragraph, I literally forget what it was all about and I would feel like telling the writer, “What are you even trying to tell me?”

Marketing content should be written in such a way that the reader should feel that you are talking to them. If they feel that way, they will respond. At the end of the day, we are two human beings trying to communicate with each other through a website. So follow the KISS principle (Keep it Short and Simple)
